In 2010, UDL launched the Innovation Spring initiative, which aimed to promote sustainable regional growth, R&I, and the introduction of a culture of tech entrepreneurship. Researchers, practitioners, educators, and policymakers come together annually to attend forums and brokerage events to form European consortia, create centers of excellence, and coordinate research activities in various fields such as new material and biotechnology, IT, energy and ecology, recovery and reconstruction towards a green, digital, and inclusive economy.
